Terms of Use

Effective October 22, 2026. The rules for using RunFirst, including how subscriptions and the free trial work.

Agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of the RunFirst iPhone app and this website, provided by Devesh Babbar (“RunFirst”, “we”). By downloading or using RunFirst you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which applies to your license to use the app. If these terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls for your license of the app.

What RunFirst does

RunFirst uses Apple's Screen Time to keep apps you choose locked until you meet a daily movement goal, and converts the distance you move into screen time. It relies on Apple Health, Screen Time and location services on your iPhone; if you turn those permissions off, some or all features won't work.

Your account

You need an account to use RunFirst. Keep your sign-in method secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (You > Delete account). Deleting your account doesn't cancel your App Store subscription: manage that in your Apple ID settings.

Subscriptions, trials and billing

  • RunFirst requires an auto-renewing subscription: Yearly (with a 7 day free trial for eligible new subscribers) or Weekly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or when the free trial ends.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • If you cancel during a free trial, you won't be charged. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Health and safety

RunFirst is not medical advice. It's a motivation tool, not a doctor, coach or diagnostic device.

  • Talk to a doctor before starting any exercise program, especially if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, an injury, are pregnant, or haven't exercised in a long time.
  • Stop immediately and seek help if you feel pain, dizziness, faintness or shortness of breath.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings. Don't look at your phone while crossing roads; follow traffic rules; run in safe, well-lit places.
  • Distance and time measurements from GPS and Apple Health can be inaccurate.

You use RunFirst and take part in any physical activity at your own risk.

Fight mode and the leaderboard

Fight mode lets you race other RunFirst users for an hour. Your fight distance has to come from your own running or walking with the phone you fight on. Don't use vehicles, other people or tricks to add distance. RunFirst caps speeds no person can hold for an hour and may void results or turn off Fight mode for anyone who cheats or abuses it.

The same goes for the weekly leaderboard, which counts runs tracked in RunFirst and checks them against your step count. We may remove runs or players that look faked.

The prize is extra screen time inside RunFirst, and a place on the leaderboard. Neither has cash value or can be exchanged. Fight mode and the leaderboard are run by RunFirst; Apple is not a sponsor of them and is not involved in them in any way. Watch where you're going: never race in traffic, in the dark without care, or anywhere unsafe. No fight is worth an injury.

Locks and emergencies

Locked apps stay locked by design, and stricter modes limit how you can change settings. Calls, messages, emergency services and any apps you didn't choose to lock are not affected. Don't lock apps you may need in an emergency. RunFirst depends on Apple's Screen Time and can't guarantee that every lock or unlock happens at an exact moment.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse RunFirst: no reverse engineering except where the law allows it, no interfering with the app's operation, and no using it to break the law or to monitor another person without their consent.

Ownership

RunFirst, its name, logo, design and content belong to Devesh Babbar. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use the app under these terms and the Standard EULA. Content you create, such as your Day Cards, is yours.

Disclaimers

RunFirst is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise any particular fitness, health or screen-time result.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, RunFirst and its creator won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for injury arising from physical activity, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for RunFirst in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes and termination

We may update RunFirst and these terms. If we make material changes we'll update this page and the effective date, and tell you in the app where appropriate. You can stop using RunFirst anytime by deleting it and cancelling your subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
